Ruth & David

Ruth and David are a realty team specializing in East Vancouver properties. Due to their focus on the East side of Vancouver, Ruth and David deal with a lot of family housing in some very charming neighbourhoods.

I wanted to bring out the character and sense of community offered by East Vancouver for this realty team.

I also saw this as a way to differentiate them from the rest of the overly corporate, cheesy sales oriented sites of most realtors. By offering a friendly, community oriented visual aesthetic I hoped to fully embody this realty team.

This led me to a really light, fun colour palette and some great quirky illustrations.

The illustration really helped give the design a hand-drawn feel which really added to the friendly, low pressure feel I was striving for.

Typographically I went with a classic slab serif Rockwell and for the wordmark, emphasized the ampersand to place emphasis on the team aspect of this duo, and to act as a strong visual anchor for the rest of the type in the wordmark and tagline.

The result is a realty site like any other, and one that embodies all of the quirk and charm of East Vancouver.
