The future is beautiful - Kenji Hirata

I first learned about the barnstormers a few years ago from some friends who are into the graf scene and had seen some of their work around a few of the art blogs. In large part the barnstormers went un-noticed for me until I picked up a recent issue of Juxtapoz and saw that the entire issue was simply a feature on the NYC crew.

The theme that runs through Hirata's body of work is a story he has created, in which an entire universe exists. His paintings, drawings and films provide glimpses into this universe

Looking at his work I really do get that feeling

Kenji Hirata was one of the barnstormers who I hadn't previously had the chance to see. But out of all the barnstormers his vision, boldness and use of color and form really stuck with me as something truly innovative and inspiring.

I know that many of you have seen or heard of Kenji before, as he is no means new to the scene. I just wanted to take a few minutes to show off his amazing work.
