Fake Drugs

The band fake drugs has been a favorite for quite a while now. I am totally hooked on their marriage of low fi garage with synth poppy hooks. Hailing from the hipsterest of towns these guys live up to their hometown's cool vibes.

dubstep infestation

Thanks to all the filthy techno hippies lounging around north america acid tripping from one coachella to another we are now faced with a serious dubstep infestation!!

Thankfully we have some pretty sweet examples of how to flourish in this new musical ecosystem.

the dubstep infection is sweeping the nation

Something for errrebody

Yes... I do realize that half these bands aren't *actually* "indie" per-say... so sue me!

Stag, Stag Sans and Stag Rounded

The Stag family of typefaces is one which I only recently discovered, but I knew instantly that I was going to love this here font! (And yes I am continually amazed at what a huuuge nerd I am)

I was thinking about writing a whole spiel about what an amazing typeface this is, but you should know just by lookin, this one here is the real deal.

back to basics

So I have noticed lately that there is a real resurgence in handmade goods, but also in the visual art world, there seems to be a return to some of the basics of art and design.

Simple pencil, chalk and biro pen drawings are now common place in galleries around the world. These artists are taking 'the basics' to whole new heights. There are so many examples of amazing art made with the simplest of tools. here are just a  few samples from some amazing artists that you should check out.

Green Zone - WTF

So I was unfortunate enough to spend almost 2 hours watching the new matt damon movie... and well... I still regret it, because I will never get those 2 hours back. Needless to say this isn't a glowing review.

So I am just going to get right into the spoilers so that I can pretty much proceed to rip this movie to shreds. First off this movie takes place in Baghdad, Iraq circa 2003 just after the second US invasion. Matt Damon plays a chief warrant officer charged with tracking the much sought after WMD's which were the pretense under which the US invaded Iraq in the first place.
